Pint of Science is a festival to bring cutting-edge research to the general public in the comfort and inclusive atmosphere of a pub. The events offer inspiring presentations and thriving discussions with scientists who are at the forefront of research.
Mon 23 May: The power of your mind
Listen to Prof Martin Westwell from Flinders University about theneuroscience of creativity and enjoy a talk by Dr Lachlan Jolly from The University of Adelaide about the influence of genes on your brain development and health.
Tue 24 May: From grapes and hops to tasty drops
What can be more relevant for the Pint of Science Festival than having a talk about the science of beer (by Tony Jones from LionCo.) and wine (by Dr David Jeffery from the Department of Wineand Food Science, University of Adelaide)? This evening will inspire your taste buds.
Wed 25 May: Smart Medicine
Our international key speaker Prof Tom Coenye from Ghent University, Belgium will enlighten us about the communication of bacteria and how this triggers disease in the human body. ProfClive Prestidge from the University of South Australia will then show ways to tackle bacteria with smart-medicine.
